Jorge Gulías Merelles
Guest Artist
Born in 1975 in Mexico City, he spends his first years as an adult in anonymity working as a debt collector. In his spare time he creates wonderful stories which he doesn’t hesitate to write. Later he returns to college and learns more about dramatic structure and other storytelling tools.
After getting his Communications degree he works in TV and movie projects for some of the most nationally and internationally acclaimed Mexican actors, directors and producers (Tony Dalton, Gary Alazraki, Marco Polo Constandse, Avelino Rodríguez). By 2008 he got his start in comics in the Mexican edition of Mad Magazine. On March 27th 2011 Aventuras Enmascaradas hits the newsstands which Jorge publishes under the Mamá Lola banner. Aventuras Enmascaradas would go on for 2 years gathering success and recognition, even being displayed in a National Museum. Since then Jorge has never stopped working to bring his stories to a larger international audience. That includes appearances on conventions, festivals and trade shows in Mexico, Spain and the United States. |
